How digs works

• You head home from where you work. It opens at Ala Moana Center. Right-click the map and choose "Start here", or click a bus stop and choose "Head home from here". The walk limit is how far you'll walk. A place inside it is a walk, with no bus. Farther away, a rental counts when a direct bus leaves at or after the time you pick and stops within that walk. Times come from a typical weekday timetable.
• The map opens where you head home from, with prices showing. That place is a green marker. Click a rental. Inside your walk, a line runs from the marker to the rental. Farther away, a line runs from the marker to the bus you board, and the rental is a pin with a line to the bus you get off. A dark price tag is reachable and a white one isn't. A dashed ≈ tag means the address is approximate. Zoomed out, rentals are dots. Grocery stores and farmers markets appear when you zoom in.
• A gold ring or a new tag means the listing first appeared in the last 24 hours.
• A rental listed on several sites shows once, as "3 listings". Its price is the lowest one listed.
• Hearts (♥ favorites) stay in this browser. Sign in to keep them on every device and share them with people you invite.
• About: digs is free. Rentals come from public listing sites (HiCentral MLS, Apartment List, AppFolio and Buildium property managers, TurboTenant, and pages clipped from Zillow and Realtor.com) and are pulled once a day. Bus data is TheBus (Oʻahu), Hele-On (Hawaiʻi Island), and The Kauaʻi Bus. Crime counts come from Honolulu Police Department incident data (Oʻahu) and CityProtect public incidents (Hawaiʻi Island and Kauaʻi).
• Privacy: as a guest, nothing you mark leaves this browser. Signing in uses your email only for sign-in links. Your hearts are then stored in the site's database, shared only with people you invite.
